Lowes: Line Striping

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Problem: This area is for loading materials only, but customers were parking there because they could not see the markings.

Solution: We repainted the area so that customers can see it is a loading zone only.

Maintenance: Repaint everything every 2-3 years.

This Lowe’s in Indianapolis, IN was experiencing some problems with their line striping. This area is reserved for loading materials only. However, because the paint was so faded, customers were unaware of this and were parking in the area. This lack of clarity not only created an inconvenience and hindrance to the loading process, it also threatened the safety of both customers and employees.

Walmart: Crack Filling

Location: Lexington, KY

Problem: Cracks running through the parking lot were allowing water to get under the asphalt surface.

Solution: We put down hot asphalt crack filler to stop water from getting in.

Maintenance: Crack fill commercial parking lots every 2-4 years depending on volume of traffic.

This Walmart in Lexington, KY was suffering from deep cracks running through their parking lot. These cracks were deep enough to allow water to get under the asphalt surface. This was especially concerning because water under the asphalt surface can cause severe damage to the sub-base. If the sub-base is ruined, it can cause complete asphalt failure and lead to a costly removal and repaving process.

Chicago, IL Asphalt Filling – Lowes

Location: Chicago, IL

Problem: The parking lot was beginning to fail, and large pockets of asphalt were breaking up.

Solution: We performed a 2″ mill-and-overlay to prevent future cracking.

Maintenance: Sealcoat over new asphalt 4-5 years after initial paving to keep the parking lot looking new.

This Lowe’s parking lot in Chicago, IL was beginning to fail. The lot was exhibiting severe deterioration and serious cracking had led to large pockets of asphalt breaking up. The damage was not only an aesthetic deterrent, but also a safety and legal hazard. Lowe’s called in DC Construction Services to repair the damage and help protect their investment.

Clay Terrace

 

 

Clay Terrace is a 1-level, 2.3 million square-feet; community lifestyle center anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Whole Foods, and DSW Shoe Warehouse.  The center features more than 75 fine stores, including 15 restaurants.  The selection includes Old Navy, Pier One Imports, American Eagle Outfitters, Kona Grille, Mitchell’s Fish Market, J Prime, Victoria’s Secret, White House/Black Market and many more.  Among Clay Terrace’s amenities is a children’s play ground, courtyard including a fountain and seating area, and a food court with and outdoor eating area and a fire pit! Lowe’s is a retail home improvement and appliance store. Approximately 112,000 square feet, the 1-level store is complete with an outdoor garden area. Founded in 1946 in North Carolina, the store has expanded to over 1,800+ in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Washington Plaza is located on the Northeast corner East Washington Street (US 40) and Mitthoeffer Road. Conveniently located just off of I-465, the Plaza is part of the major retail corridor on the East side and has traffic counts of 55,000+ per day. Kitley

 

Kitley needed to restore their loading dock. For this industrial project, DC Construction removed the existing asphalt. Concrete was used for the footer, walls, and ramp area. The end result was a safe and functional loading dock slab. Continue reading “Kitley”
